Chapter 526 – Halted
Chapter 526 – Halted
"What about our bed activities? If I pleasure your clone, can your real body feel it too?" Leyvi asked curiously.Layla blushed a little. Why did this have to be the first question that came to his mind? There were so many other things he could have asked about her clone first.
"My clone shares all of my senses, so yes," Layla replied. "But its strength is no different from a mortal woman. I'm afraid my clone won't be able to handle your strong body. Maybe only gentle sex."
Leyvi tilted his head slightly. "Your clone only has the strength of a mortal human? I see… What happens if it gets destroyed? Can you form it again?"
He wasn't really worried about the limitations. After all, the power that talent recipients possessed would continue to grow the more they used it. Right now it might only have the strength of a mortal, but in the future the clones could very well match the strength of the real body. They might even be able to use Qi just like the real Layla. He wouldn't be surprised at all.
Layla took her time and sat down next to Leyvi first before answering. "It depends on the energy supply it has. As long as my clone doesn't run out of the spirit stones it is carrying, I can regenerate it as many times as needed."
Leyvi nodded slowly. "That's good. The clones can still move on their own, right? They won't go wandering off and get lost, will they?"
Layla giggled. She couldn't help imagining the silly situation he described.
"That won't happen," she said with a smile. "The clone is still me. It has the same knowledge, the same memories, and the same thoughts. It won't be stupid. It will act exactly the way my real self would act. Don't worry."
Leyvi smiled as he gently took Layla's hand. "Perfect. After we return, you can leave all your work to the clones so you can focus on cultivating. You are handling too many things at once, and I'm worried you don't have enough free time to cultivate properly."
He had noticed that among all the ladies, Layla's cultivation lagged behind the most. This new upgrade with her clones was perfect timing. It would allow her to become less busy and finally put more focus on her own cultivation. Her clones could take care of everything else.
As the City Lord, having a higher cultivation realm would give her a clear advantage. People in the cultivation world were far more inclined to listen to someone with a stronger realm than their own. Even those with bad intentions would think twice before causing trouble. That was simply how things worked.
"Alright, I will listen to husband," Layla nodded. "I also think I have neglected my cultivation for too long."
She was not worried about leaving her duties to the clones. Although they operated independently, their thoughts and decisions were still rooted in her own mind. While new experiences might gradually shape them, it would take something extreme to truly alter the personality she had built over the years.
Aside from their current lack of strength, the clones were more than capable of managing the territory.
And if anything ever went wrong, she could simply resynchronize with them, restoring everything back to her original state.
With that settled, Leyvi and the ladies continued chatting as they enjoyed their coffee together, the atmosphere warm and unhurried.
Two days later.
The airship was passing through the Sword Grave Canyon.
Leyvi and Anda, who had seen this place not long ago, felt like they were traveling through an entirely different canyon. Because of the incident last time, the landscape here had changed drastically. Half of the canyon lay in shambles, with destructive Qi still lingering heavily across the land. These remnants of energy made it difficult for wildlife to live here. The lingering Qi could easily kill ordinary animals, and even weaker demonic beasts would find it hard to stay for long.
It seemed the people had only repaired the river, allowing the water to flow normally again, while leaving the rest of the area destroyed.
Leyvi could not help but sigh when he saw the scenery. Although he was not the one who caused this destruction, he still felt a sense of responsibility for it.
A few days before Layla had given him the news about the incident, he had welcomed the demonic bighorn sheep family into the city with great excitement. At the time, he thought they had simply chosen to leave the canyon and settle in the city willingly. Thinking back now, they probably had to abandon their home unwillingly, all for the sake of their own safety.
Halfway through the canyon, Leyvi looked down from above and noticed that the region started to look like a normal canyon once more. There were no signs of destruction here. The rock formations and valleys all appeared intact and peaceful.
"Leyvi, I detect a few Soul Formation Realm cultivators not far from here. Four of them, to be exact," Alita suddenly informed.
"Huh? Four Soul Formation Realm cultivators? Are they looking for trouble or something?" Leyvi asked.
Anda smiled, clearly excited by the idea. "If they are asking for trouble, we can just ram them until their physical bodies get destroyed. That would be interesting to watch."
Leyvi was speechless. Was she actually Tantan in disguise? Why did she always want to ram things so much?
"Big Madam, they are not hostile. They are just here for work," Alita informed.
"For work? What work?" Leyvi asked, clearly confused.
Soul Formation Realm cultivators were top-tier experts in the Cloud Continent, second only to the Protectors. They had enough power to lead any major organization. Why would they need to work for someone else? Who could possibly make them do manual labor?
A new screen appeared in front of them, showing a clear image of the four Soul Formation Realm cultivators. They were working together to remove the lingering destructive Qi and using earth elemental Qi to repair the destroyed parts of the canyon, slowly returning the land to how it used to be. At this moment, they were raising an entire long section of a collapsed cliff back into place, reforming it into a solid cliff once more.
"I see. So they are fixing the canyon again. That is great," Leyvi said as he watched them curiously. He felt genuinely impressed by the sheer scale of their Qi control.
He could control earth Qi and manipulate the ground as well, but he was nowhere near their level. There was simply a big gap between their realms. He would probably need many days just to fix that one cliff by himself.
He had almost forgotten that high-level cultivators possessed the power to reshape the landscape. Even if the destruction looked severe, it could still be restored to its original state. Of course, rebuilding always took far more effort than destroying.
"They must be working under the order of the Protector. Nobody at their level would do this kind of job willingly," Anda assumed.
Leyvi nodded. He agreed with her.
"Since they are doing good deeds, we do not need to ram them," she continued.
Leyvi's mouth twitched. He really could not tell if this panda woman was being serious or not.
The airship passed by quietly without bothering the four Soul Formation Realm cultivators.
A few days later, at the edge of the canyon, Leyvi finally got the answer to his question about whether Anda had been serious about ramming cultivators.
As they reached the end of the canyon, a group of cultivators suddenly appeared and blocked their path. Leyvi asked Alita to stop the airship in mid-air. He was curious why they had been stopped in the middle of nowhere.
The person leading the group was a Soul Formation Realm cultivator, and the fifteen people following him were all Nascent Soul Realm cultivators.
In the Cloud Continent, this kind of lineup was definitely out of the ordinary.
"COME OUT, BRAT! I'LL GIVE YOU TEN SECONDS OR I'LL DESTROY THE ENTIRE AIRSHIP!"
The Soul Formation Realm leader shouted. It was not a normal shout. It carried soul power. Under normal circumstances, everyone inside the airship would have been injured by the attack. Thankfully, the Universe Airship could filter out soul power very easily.
Alita quickly explained the soul power attack to Leyvi. The information enraged him. It enraged him because that soul power could have easily killed his two unborn children.
"Leyvi, let's crush them to death," Anda said.
Unlike before, there was not even a hint of playfulness in her tone this time. She was even more furious than Leyvi and genuinely wanted to make them die a miserable death. She could not forgive anyone who tried to harm her husband's bloodline.
"Let's do it," Leyvi replied, his voice filled with anger.
He did not know who these people were, but it did not matter. There was no need to show mercy to people like this.
